Description:

The six thousand year old healing practices of yoga are available to psychotherapists as tools for treating clients who present with many emotional, psychosocial and relational issues and for health professionals’ self-care. No longer just “mind” focused, psychotherapists today are best prepared to assist clients by integrating simple yoga postures (asanas), breath awareness and meditation as an ongoing part of their interventions. Whether you are an experienced yogi or just interested in expanding your clinical range, this workshop will provide an overview of how yoga and yogic principles can be used to enhance clients’ progress, health and personal growth. Bring a yoga mat or thick towel to the workshop.

Pre-Requisite:

Mental health provider at any level, with a minimum of one year of experience in direct service and physical health allowing him or her to do basic yoga postures standing and on a mat on the floor or in a chair.
